SGS DigiED Academy

The SGS DigiED Academy is open to all students at SGS College who seek to develop their digital capabilities. Basic digital skills are now required in all jobs just like basic literacy and numeracy. More advanced digital skills will open even more doors for you and make sure you can compete for the best employment opportunities.
SGS College have been a Microsoft Showcase College for the past 3 years and we are at the forefront in terms of using technology for education. We aim to use this expertise to help you assess and develop your digital skills across a wide range of areas including:

  • Basic digital skills
  • Using digital tools
  • Finding information and resources
  • Digital communication and collaboration
  • Digital creativity and problem solving
  • Managing your digital learning
  • Digital preferences and needs
  • Being digital

As an SGS DigiED Academy learner you will be part of a Team where you will be supported to complete online courses and join online training events. You will have access to face-to-face support in our LibraryPlus areas and be among the first of our learners to explore any new technological advances available to our College.

As your skills grow through the Academy you will receive digital badges to confirm your capabilities. You will be able to communicate your skills to employers, or other organisations, by sharing these badges through social media; on CVs; and on job or higher education applications. You will also receive some mini course completion certificates and gain industry-recognised Awards that will help you stand out from the crowd.
